We must give children the means of doing things for themselves. They should learn to care for their own needs and to think out their own ways of doing things.

With a Master's degree in Special Education and an emphasis on behavioral strategies, I bring extensive expertise in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Now in my seventh year of homeschooling, I also draw from my background in Montessori education, experience as a public school Education Specialist, and certification as a Positive Discipline Parent Educator to empower families and educators with tailored solutions and compassionate guidance.

About Me

  • Background

As a Christian, my faith shapes every aspect of my life, from parenting and education to community involvement. I am a wife to a remarkable Texan military man, a homeschool educator to three middle school-aged children, and a former foster parent who had the privilege of caring for ten children under the age of five. Having lived and educated in three different states and preparing to move to a fourth, I’ve honed my ability to adapt to diverse educational settings and tailor learning to fit the needs of each child. I’ve had the joy of running co-ops for five years, where I facilitated Shakespeare readings and theatrical performances, and poetry tea events. I teach writing through the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) to help students develop strong writing skills in a structured, creative environment. My passion lies in equipping children—both my own and others’—with the skills, knowledge, and character to live with purpose, integrity, and confidence.

  • Education

I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education with an emphasis on behavioral strategies and have years of experience as an Education Specialist in the public school classroom, where I developed expertise in writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). As a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, I specialize in providing tailored strategies to support diverse learning needs. With a background spanning both classroom and homeschool settings, I guide families in creating structured, effective learning environments that address each child’s unique strengths.

  • My Philosophy

My educational philosophy is deeply rooted in my Christian faith and the belief that children thrive in a structured yet nurturing environment filled with curiosity, meaningful relationships, and purposeful work. I blend the Charlotte Mason and classical traditions, incorporating memory work, living books, Socratic discussion, and hands-on exploration to develop both intellect and character. My background in Montessori education and years working in public education have reinforced my commitment to nurturing independence and a love of lifelong learning. As a former foster parent, I have seen firsthand the power of stability, service, and intentional discipleship in shaping young lives. Now in my seventh year of homeschooling, I remain dedicated to equipping children not only with academic excellence but also with the wisdom and confidence to live out their God-given purpose.
